Still months and months away

But planning is more than half the fun!

I should put in some of the details here: We are departing Sydney (SYD) on 16 May 2012 on the Sun Princess but we will leave the US before that First Class (!) on United Airlines to SYD.

Among other things, our 50th anniversary is right before we get on the ship so I want to find something to do on the 12, 13, 14 of May. Something spectacular and really romantic. Not to mention wanting to give Randy something to commemorate our spending 50 years together! Guys are NOT easy to buy for, however, so I will have to think about this for the next few months.

I also have to think about getting our reservations back home from SYD!

It may even be time to start some of our checklists. The one thing I'm sort of worried about is visas. We need visas for many, many countries. So I have to look into how to do that in a timely manner.

  1. Hi guys
I am so glad that you are starting your own blog - I have loved having you follow us this year - thank you for all your comments - and we will definitely be following you next year - don't stress too much about visas - the only ones we needed for the ports we went to were for India and also a visa waiver for the US - you will need an aussie visa - I think the Indian one only lasts for six months - so don't get it too early!! I am not sure about any of the new ports you will be visiting - the Princess personaliser will have al the details you need as the trip gets closer.
The beauty of traveling on the world cruise is that Princess pursers staff stay up all night making sure that everyone's visas are in order so that you don't have to - fabulous service which i am sure causes them a few headaches at times - all you have to do is to fill in the paperwork which is delivered to your stateroom and hand over your passport as requested - all the details are always on the front of the Princess Patter.
You are so right - half the fun is in the planning and research so enjoy it all - it really is a fabulous experience and it will be exactly what YOU make it!! have fun Cheers Ros
